Responsibilities & Opportunities

Pay range:  $100K -$110K 

We are seeking a dynamic and results driven Materials Manager to join our Building and Finishing Riverside Team to manage the Purchasing/Planning department of the Riverside plant.  This position will champion supply chain initiatives and support the department’s strategic goals and objectives. Primary responsibility will be ensuring product availability within the agreed lead-times in all the stocking locations supplied by the Riverside plant while meeting inventory targets. Maintain alignment across the various business functions.

  • Develop, implement and manage cross functional, fully integrated planning process that incorporates planning, scheduling, inventory, material and forecasting.
  • Analyze forecast and actual sales history for trends and maintain optimal safety stock and inventory levels to ensure product availability.
  • Prioritize production activities according to safety stock levels and customer orders, ensuring delivery deadlines and customer requirements are met. 
  • Collaborate with purchasing, inventory, and production managers to synchronize materials availability with production needs.
  • Monitor and adjust schedules to address changes in customer demand or supply chain challenges.
  • Be responsible for the accuracy of the data in SAP that drivers the system interface and subsequent output (delivery dates, lead-times, minimum order quantity, safety stock, etc.).
  • Actively participate and drive in efforts to lower or increase inventory levels in line with plant strategic goals
  • Represent the Riverside Supply Chain in the Sales, Inventory and Operations Planning meetings.
  • Coordinate and follow up with production, warehouse, logistics and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate scheduling and movement of materials.
  • Maintain communication with the Business through Customer Care and Sales Managers to drive alignment with Operations.
  • This role is both strategic and hands-on, helping the team through difficult supply challenges and working closely with customers, to ensure internal and external customers’ requirements are met.

Preferred Skills

  • BS or advanced degree in Engineering, Production, Supply Chain or related field
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in Supply Chain
  • Good verbal, written, analytical and persuasive skills, and the ability to interact effectively with all levels of employees and management.
  • Project Management experience
